At the turn of the year, Permapack is undergoing a change at the helm of the company. After more than three decades at the company, CEO and owner Thomas Hansmann will hand over operational leadership to Pascal Schwarz on January 1, 2027.
Thomas Hansmann began his career at Permapack on April 1, 1991. Four years later, as CEO, he took over responsibility for the operational business. Under his leadership, according to company records, Permapack developed into an internationally operating company with today around 300 employees.
The 66-year-old will remain connected to the family business even after the handover. As owner and chairman of the board of directors, he will continue to guide the strategic development of Permapack.
Pascal Schwarz takes over operational leadership
Pascal Schwarz has been working as COO and member of the management team at Permapack for two years. In this role, he is responsible for the Label & Flexible Packaging division. According to the company, Schwarz has 25 years of management experience and has become familiar with the various business areas, as well as customers and employees, over the past two years.
The change will be made as part of a long-term succession plan. According to company reports, Hansmann has been intensively involved in the search for a suitable successor who will continue Permapack in the interests of the family owners and the employees.
Family remains active in the company
The next generation of the family owners is already working at the company. Hansmann's daughter Simone and his two sons-in-law work at Permapack. This ensures that the family remains closely connected to the company even after Hansmann's retirement from the operational business.
