Christian Strahberger is taking over the leadership of ABB's Machine Automation Division (B&R) at a time when the automation industry is facing major challenges. Following the tragic accidental death of his predecessor Florian Schneeberger in April, Strahberger is stepping into the role with the aim of strengthening the division through targeted innovation and sustainable solutions.

With 25 years of experience in senior management roles within mechanical engineering, drive technology as well as motion control and power electronics, Strahberger brings broad expertise. Most recently, he was at Danfoss, where he worked as Chief Technology Officer and Head of Chip Manufacturing at Semikron Danfoss. His career also includes spells at Singulus Technologies, Schottel and Voith, where he held various technological and business leadership roles.

Focus on innovation and sustainability

Strahberger emphasises that his focus is on driving innovation in order to develop market-relevant solutions. He sees the combination of academic excellence and practical leadership experience as the key to positioning B&R as a reliable partner for customers. In doing so, it is important to him to increase customers' productivity and competitiveness while simultaneously promoting more sustainable business practices.

Christian Strahberger obtained his doctorate in semiconductor physics from the Technical University of Munich, which highlights his scientific expertise. He combines this academic foundation with his many years of international leadership experience in technology-driven industrial companies. This combination is intended to help lead ABB Machine Automation into a new era of growth characterised by innovation and sustainability.
