Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Deutschland is investing 45 million euros in a new canning line at the Halle plant. Scheduled for November 2026, the line is intended to bottle Coca-Cola, Fanta and Sprite in 0.25- and 0.33-litre cans for the German market. At the heart of the system is a filler from Krones with an output of up to 120,000 cans per hour.
With this investment, Halle becomes Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Germany's third German production site for can bottling, alongside Karlsruhe and Dorsten. At the same time, carbonated drinks are returning to the plant. According to the company, over the past two decades, exclusively non-carbonated drinks of the Fuze Tea and Powerade brands were bottled there. As part of the expansion, 25 new jobs are to be created in production and adjacent areas.
Krones filler achieves up to 120,000 cans per hour
An important step in setting up the new line took place on 17 July 2026 with the delivery of the 21-tonne filler from Krones. The machine was manufactured in Neutraubling and brought into the production hall by crane. In future, it is intended to fill up to 120,000 cans per hour, or around 33 cans per second.
„That is not an abstract figure. That is 33 cans every second that this machine fills. When you see it running for the first time, you understand the scale of what we are building here in Halle, says Arne Rosenberg, project manager for the new canning line at Coca-Cola in Halle.
The installation required extensive preparation at the plant. According to Coca-Cola, over a period of more than half a year, six warehouses were combined, walls were removed, and existing concrete surfaces were broken up and re-poured. This created the structural conditions for the installation of the system.
Installation during ongoing beverage production
The installation of the can line is taking place while the rest of the production facilities are in normal operation. According to the company, up to 50 external specialists are involved in the project.
„That requires a high degree of communication, precision and a strong sense of teamwork,“ says Rosenberg. The installation of the line is set to continue in the coming weeks. Commissioning is scheduled for November 2026.
Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Deutschland is investing a total of 45 million euros in the project in the years 2025 and 2026. The new line is also part of the planned investments of around 100 million euros in the company's German sites for 2026. According to the company, 97 percent of the Coca-Cola drinks offered in Germany are bottled in 13 German plants.
