The Aschaffenburg-based plant manufacturer Getecha will be showing its new developments in size reduction technology at the forthcoming Fakuma in Friedrichshafen. At the trade fair, the company will also be presenting itself as an all-in-one partner for the implementation of process solutions ranging from size reduction, conveying and extraction to dedusting and packaging technology.
For years, plastics technology companies have placed great emphasis on the seamless in-house processing of waste from their manufacturing processes and its resource-efficient return into production-related material cycles. Following this development, Getecha began early on to implement complete process solutions for its international clientele which, beyond size reduction technology, also include further stages for feeding, processing and conditioning the regrind obtained.
Today, the Aschaffenburg-based company is thus able to offer not only a wide range of modern granulators in various performance classes to plastics processors and the recycling industry alike, but also highly automated conveying, extraction, dust removal and packaging systems for the pre- and post-processing of the material.

Versatile funnel mill
A process engineering highlight of the Fakuma appearance is the versatile RS 38060 hopper granulator. At the trade fair, the granulator is equipped with a pre-stage and post-processing equipment. The pre-stage is formed by the innovative HHS feed system, whose dosing slide feeds the material to be processed to the cutting rotor horizontally and load-dependently. Depending on the material, the user can select different control programmes that regulate the speed and pressure of the feed. The HHS gives the granulator the ability to process voluminous hollow bodies (e.g. blow-moulded parts) including flash directly into regrind of the desired grain size. This eliminates the need for the operator to use upstream shredders and all conveying routes between primary and final size reduction.
As a solution for the post-processing stage, Getecha is showing an extraction system whose air flow conveys the regrind out of the mill, as well as a GE 50 type dust removal system that frees the regrind of fines, dust and contaminant particles with a volume capacity of up to 1,000 kg/h.
Both systems are examples of an attractive range of downstream material flow solutions that Getecha offers for continuous process flows. These include – among other things – various scalable suction units that transport the regrind cleanly and in a controlled manner to the desired location, as well as dedusting systems that transform the regrind into a recyclable material that is virtually as good as new. The material treated in this way can finally be collected in a sack or big bag packaging system – also from Getecha – and is optimally conditioned for further processing.
At the Fakuma, the RS 38060 also serves as an example of the high quality standard of granulator technology. This granulator makes light work of tangled sprues, packaging returns, film rolls, containers and bulky plastic processing residues. Its modular design also allows for functional expansion with a discharge screw for material removal, a control camera in the grinding chamber or water cooling.
Focus on sustainability and efficiency
At a time when sustainability has become a central issue in industry, Getecha relies on solutions that reduce material consumption while simultaneously increasing recycling rates. The featured technologies are designed to help meet the demands of a modern circular economy while minimising the carbon footprint of production.
The company covers all services ranging from design and development through to manufacturing and assembly, as well as commissioning. In its technical centre, Getecha can also carry out practical test runs and develop bespoke special solutions beyond its range of standard machines.
