interpack is looking ahead: for 2029, the processing and packaging trade fair is setting the course for the future with a new date and an evolved duration model. The next edition of the fair will take place from 10 to 15 June 2029. The event will therefore move to early summer and will run for six days, from Sunday to Friday.
The decision to move the trade fair to early summer and change the order of the days is part of a strategic realignment. Thomas Dohse, Director of interpack, explained that as the most important platform in its industry, the trade fair is continuously being developed to meet the needs of exhibitors and visitors. „We listen carefully to what exhibitors, visitors and attendees need, and are creating a format that will further support their trade fair success. This is the first visible sign. Further innovations will follow,“ said Dohse. These adjustments are intended to increase the efficiency of the trade fair and facilitate high-quality contacts.
Background to the changes
The adjustment is based on intensive discussions with the exhibiting companies and has been thoroughly debated with the interpack advisory board and international industry associations. It addresses the frequently expressed desire for a shorter duration and is being made against the backdrop of changing requirements for international leading trade fairs. In an increasingly globalised and digitalised world, efficiency and a focus on high-quality contacts are crucial factors for the success of such events. The new timetable from Sunday to Friday is intended to enable both international and local visitors to make the best use of the trade fair without having to forgo essential business days.
