The investor process for the insolvent Baiersbronn Frischfaser Karton GmbH has suffered a setback. A potential investor no longer wishes to pursue the planned transaction. The future of the company and the Baiersbronn site is currently uncertain.
According to the company, the parties involved have over the past few weeks on a solution for Baiersbronn virgin fibre carton and the site worked. However, an agreement with the potential investor was not reached. The company cited the continued difficult economic and sector-specific conditions as the background.
Further steps are being coordinated
As late as mid-July, Baiersbronn Frischfaser Karton had announced that in the course of of the insolvency proceedings an investor process had been initiated. Now, management and insolvency administration must search for a new perspective for the company.
The current statement does not reveal the concrete consequences of the interested party's withdrawal for business operations and the employees. According to the company, the next steps are to be determined at short notice and in close consultation with all stakeholders.
Baiersbronn Frischfaser Karton GmbH is part of the Folbb Group and produces virgin fibre cartonboard at the Baiersbronn site.
