Karl Mayer Kartonagenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG, based in Haiterbach, has filed for insolvency. The Tübingen Local Court appointed Dr Sebastian Mielke as preliminary insolvency administrator. According to the law firm Menold Bezler, business operations of the manufacturer of customised corrugated cardboard solutions are continuing without restriction.
Represented by its general partner, Mayer Verwaltungs-GmbH, the company applied for the opening of insolvency proceedings against its assets on 29 July 2026. One day later, Menold Bezler announced the appointment of Mielke as provisional insolvency administrator.
Restructuring is to be continued in insolvency
The Karl Mayer box factory manufactures bespoke corrugated cardboard solutions for commercial and industrial customers. Following the economically difficult years of 2024 and 2025, the company had already embarked on a restructuring course, according to the preliminary insolvency administrator.
„Following the crisis years of 2024/2025, the company was well on the path to a turnaround, and it now wants to continue this restructuring path during insolvency,“ Mielke stated on the day of his appointment.
Business operations will therefore continue without restriction. The wages and salaries of the roughly 110 employees are secured through insolvency benefits from July up to and including September 2026.
The investor process is being continued
Even before filing for insolvency, Karl Mayer Kartonagenfabrik had launched an investor process. This is to be continued as part of the preliminary insolvency proceedings. No further details regarding the status of the process or potential interested parties were disclosed.
The insolvency proceedings are being handled by Mielke together with Melanie Niksic.
