Demand for flexible and sustainable packaging solutions in the North American beverage industry is rising. At this year's Pack Expo in Chicago, the US subsidiary of filling and packaging specialist KHS is presenting new technologies that provide tailored answers to the current ecological and economic challenges faced by the regional beverage industry.

At the trade fair, KHS USA is showcasing an integrated system that impresses with perfectly coordinated high-performance technologies. A central element of this strategy is Plasmax barrier technology. This makes it possible to apply a thin, glass-like coating to PET bottles, which significantly extends the shelf life of oxygen-sensitive products. At the same time, the recyclability of the bottles is fully retained, making an important contribution to the circular economy.

Another highlight is the Nature MultiPack, a packaging system that connects cans or PET containers into stable units with minimal material use. This solution reduces material consumption by up to 85 percent compared to conventional packaging while still offering consumers a high degree of convenience.

Smart services

To further increase production efficiency, KHS USA offers a broad spectrum of digital services. The Virtual Training Center (VTC) enables operators and technicians to undertake further training independently of location and continuously improve their skills. This is particularly important in view of the skills shortage in the region.

In addition, the KHS ConnectApp provides comprehensive information on machinery and technical documentation, which shortens reaction times and increases planning reliability. These digital solutions are crucial to minimising training effort and maximising operational efficiency.

With a strong network and investments in local infrastructure, the company ensures that it can respond quickly to customer requirements. David Darbant, Chief Sales & Service Officer of KHS USA, emphasises that through technical expertise and partnership-based collaboration, KHS USA creates long-term added value for the North American market.
