The brewing industry is facing a multitude of challenges, ranging from the growing demand for non-alcoholic beers to rising requirements for energy and resource efficiency. These trends demand innovative solutions, which will be presented at BrauBeviale 2026. Krones will be showcasing its latest developments at the trade fair.
Current requirements from breweries are also the focus in filling and packaging technology. Glass remains the most important type of packaging in the beer segment, and accordingly numerous further developments are concentrating on the most resource-efficient and economical handling of this container type possible.
With the Lavasonic HI, Krones has the next generation of bottle cleaning in its portfolio. The new high-intensity module works on the basis of ultrasound and enables highly efficient cleaning while simultaneously reducing energy and water consumption.
In the field of filling technology, the further developed Modulfill HES is the centre of attention. The development project will be completed at the end of the year and the new generation of fillers will go into serial production. The system achieves outputs of up to 78,000 glass bottles per hour. During the redesign, in addition to improvements in user-friendliness, hygiene and space requirements, the primary focus was on product quality: low oxygen pickup values enable a longer shelf life for the beer.
flexibility in the dryer section
Last but not least, packaging requirements are also changing. An increasing variety of product variants and changing pack formats demand flexible solutions. The Smartpac NXT caters to this trend. The packaging machine is designed for different bottle formats and secondary packaging. Alongside glass containers, PET bottles can also be processed.
From the field of palletising technology, Krones is presenting a newly developed sweep-off plate at the BrauBeviale for the first time, combining various features from the previous portfolio into a single machine.
Whether it's alcohol-free beers, resource-saving production or digitalisation – the topics at BrauBeviale 2026 reflect the challenges currently occupying breweries. Krones is taking up these developments and, in Hall 7A, will be showcasing practical solutions that help companies set up their production efficiently, flexibly and for the future.
