A new label technology from Securikett enables trays to be securely sealed without the use of conventional heat-sealing processes. The system combines several functions in a single label, thereby offering a solution that is safer, faster and more cost-effective than traditional sealing processes.
Securikett’s new labelling system integrates multiple features, including structured adhesive coatings, VOID technology, silicone coatings and custom die-cutting. This combination ensures tampering resistance and functionality in a single design. The VOID effect makes unauthorised opening immediately visible, which increases packaging security. In addition, functional elements such as ventilation openings or viewing windows can be integrated directly into the label, which increases application versatility.
A key innovation lies in the closure mechanism: instead of a welded lid, the tray is securely sealed by the label itself. The application is fully compatible with automated labelling or dispensing systems, which enables faster processes and reduces machine and operating costs compared to heat-sealing systems.
Increased efficiency in production
A key advantage of the new system lies in its compatibility with automated labelling and dispensing systems. This enables faster production processes and reduces machine and operating costs compared to traditional heat-sealing systems. Vanessa Mitterer-Kling, Head of Research and Development at Securikett, explains: „We have combined several technologies so that they work together in a single label. This creates a packaging solution that is not only tamper-evident, but can also be efficiently integrated into existing production processes.“
