The demand for eco-friendly packaging materials is continuously increasing, and companies are looking for solutions that offer both sustainable and high-performance properties. MM Board & Paper has responded to this trend by expanding its portfolio with the new Kraft paper MM Polar Plus. This product has been specially developed for applications such as carrier bags, fast-food packaging and other food contact materials.
With the introduction of MM Polar Plus, MM Board & Paper is expanding its existing range of machine-glazed kraft papers by three new grammages: 40, 45 and 50 g/m². These additions are made from elementary chlorine-free bleached virgin fibres (ECF) and offer an immaculate, smooth surface as well as excellent formation. This enables high-quality processing results and reliable printability, which is crucial for many coating and varnishing applications.
The company highlights that the new kraft paper provides a uniform base for PE coatings that require additional barrier properties against grease, moisture or oxygen. These properties make the paper suitable for both food and non-food applications.
Environmental certifications and production location
The new kraft paper is manufactured at the MM Board & Paper plant in Kwidzyn, Poland. This site is known for its high product quality and holds several environmental and quality management certifications. These include certificates for responsible forest management and traceability along the supply chain, as well as ISO 9001 quality management system certification.

Versatile application options
MM Polar Plus impresses with a uniform degree of whiteness and consistent surface properties that ensure consistent print results. These features are particularly important for guaranteeing a consistent appearance across different packaging formats.
The Kwidzyn plant, which features three state-of-the-art board and paper machines as well as a fully integrated pulp mill, ensures that a consistently high product quality is achieved. The tailored pulp produced at the site forms the basis for this quality.
