Monta Klebebandwerk GmbH has filed an application for the opening of insolvency proceedings under self-administration with the Kempten District Court. The aim of this measure is to continue the restructuring of the company, which has already been initiated, under the possibilities offered by the Insolvency Code and to re-establish the company financially.
Business operations will continue in full, and the self-administration plan presented provides for financing until the end of January 2027.
The decision for self-administration has been coordinated with the key stakeholders. The main financier has expressed its willingness to provide financial support, and the members of the preliminary creditors' committee, including representatives of secured and unsecured creditors, suppliers, and employees, also support the requested preliminary self-administration. The works council is closely involved in the process, and the shareholders endorse the chosen restructuring course.
Lars Böhrnsen, Managing Director of Monta Klebebandwerk GmbH, emphasises the importance of self-administration as a suitable framework for consistently continuing the restructuring. „The fact that financiers, key creditors, the works council, and shareholders support this path creates a good starting point for this,“ says Böhrnsen.
Operational measures and investor process
The operational measures already initiated will be continued. These include the streamlining of the product portfolio, the optimisation of production and order processing, as well as additional sales activities at home and abroad. In parallel, a structured and transparent investor process will be initiated to ensure the sustainable continuation of the company and secure jobs at the Immenstadt site.
No impact on foreign subsidiaries
The filing of the insolvency application has no immediate impact on the business operations of the foreign subsidiaries in Hungary and Romania. These will continue independently of the situation in Germany. The chosen restructuring path aims to achieve the best possible satisfaction of creditors and to stabilise the company in the long term.
