The Multivac ‚Ready Meal Days‘ focused on holistic solutions for the industrial processing and packaging of convenience products – from filling, packaging and labelling through to gentle pasteurisation. More than 100 visitors gathered at the company headquarters in Wolfertschwenden to find out about the latest developments in packaging technology.
Multivac presented a comprehensive portfolio of solutions for the processing and packaging of ready meals. One of the main attractions was a convenience line that included the TX 620 traysealer, a filler from GS Italia and a Multivac labeller. This combination enables the efficient and automated processing of ready meals. For smaller production batches, the compact T 305 and T 255 traysealers were presented together with a stand-alone filler.

Another highlight of the event was an AI-powered vision system for the quality control of ready meals. This system can automatically identify different product variants and check the arrangement of the individual components within the tray. This increases the degree of automation, improves quality control and reduces waste, resulting in a consistent product presentation.
Innovative process integration
A special focus of the event was on the in-line packaging and pasteurisation of ready meals: together with Gigatherm, MULTIVAC presented a process that combines packaging and microwave pasteurisation.
„The solution is designed for a continuous production process and is characterised by process reliability and high product quality. At the same time, it offers flexibility in packaging concepts and formulations.“
Franziska Schreiber, Product Manager Traysealer at Multivac
Additionally, participants gained insights into application-specific equipment features and practical examples from the market, packaging concepts and intelligent service concepts from Multivac.
