To continue meeting the rising demand for paper-based packaging, Rondo Ganahl AG has expanded its moulded fibre plant at its headquarters in Frastanz. With an investment of around six million euros, a new system has been installed that doubles the production capacity for conventional moulded fibre products and creates ideal conditions to sustainably strengthen the company's newest business division.
Construction work began at the end of August 2025 and was rapidly advanced. The structural shell was already completed by the end of January 2026. The new hall, which integrates seamlessly into the existing infrastructure, offers space for the new production line across approximately 1,200 square metres. The new moulded fibre machine was delivered in July 2026 and, thanks to good planning, was able to be put into operation two weeks earlier than planned.
Capacity doubled
With the commissioning of the new plant in July 2026, Rondo has significantly increased its capacities in the moulded fibre sector. An additional press will shortly complement the production process. In addition, the existing machine will be relocated to the new hall by the end of the year in order to utilise synergies and further increase efficiency. These measures will enable Rondo to continue offering its customers complete solutions made from recyclable paper-based moulded fibre parts.
Strategic importance
Sencer Kurtulus, Head of the Moulded Fibre Business Division at Rondo, emphasises the strategic importance of this expansion. He states that the investment is a clear commitment to the Vorarlberg region and the future of the company. The expansion will create new jobs and strengthen the local economy. Rondo believes that the expansion leaves it well equipped to meet the rising demands of the market.
