The Sick Nova image processing platform is equipped with new AI tools for processing 3D data. This platform makes it possible to significantly increase efficiency and accuracy in industrial image processing. The integration of AI into image processing systems allows complex tasks to be solved faster and more precisely, which is particularly advantageous in the automation of production processes.
3D anomaly detection and 3D AI classification are just some of the new features that make it possible to detect deviations in topography or to differentiate between product variants. These tools make setting up inspections extremely simple and flexible, as they are based on sample images. Sick Nova thus offers a scalable solution for demanding applications such as volume, shape and dimension inspections, which are indispensable in many industrial applications.

Setting new standards in 3D camera technology
Alongside the Sick Nova platform, the company is also presenting its extensive 3D vision portfolio. Highlights include the Ranger NextGen and the Ruler3000. These products are designed to capture high-precision 3D images and process them in real time. The Ranger NextGen camera is based on the latest CMOS image sensor technology and offers higher measurement accuracy as well as improved robustness in demanding production environments. It enables high-resolution 2D images, precise 3D height maps and true-colour information to be captured simultaneously, creating a complete digital representation of the inspection object from them.
The new camera platform is characterised by its high speed and resolution, which enables users to inspect more parts in less time without sacrificing accuracy. This is supported by advanced image data pre-processing technologies that ensure reliable operation even under difficult ambient light conditions.
Advances in software development
The continuous further development of the software is crucial for industrial image processing. Tools such as the AI Blob Finder demonstrate how neural networks can be used for precise object detection and measurement.
