Somic, manufacturer of end-of-line packaging machinery, is showcasing its latest machine series and digital solutions at Pack Expo International 2026 in Chicago. The focus is on the proven Somic 434 and the compact Somic 202, which is being presented in the USA for the first time.
Since its launch three years ago, the Somic 434 machine has established itself as the standard in end-of-line packaging. It offers up to 32 cycles per minute and an almost unlimited variety of formats. The machine can be configured as a tray, wraparound or tray/lid packer, and offers the capability to produce both one-piece and multi-piece cardboard packaging on a single machine. Extensive automatic format adjustments minimise changeover times and increase production efficiency.
Compact entry-level solution
The Somic 202 is celebrating its US premiere at the trade fair. This compact case packer is designed for standard packaging tasks and is suitable as an entry-level solution for automated end-of-line packaging. It processes Regular Slotted Cartons (RSC) or flat, one-piece tray or wraparound blanks at a rate of up to 20 cartons per minute. The machine offers proven Somic quality in a minimal footprint and will be demonstrated live at the booth.
Digital services
Alongside the machinery, the Minnesota-headquartered company is presenting the Somic Eagle multi-camera system, which simplifies troubleshooting using time-stamped video clips. Somic Connect complements this system with additional diagnostic data provided via a secure email server. These digital solutions are designed to increase plant availability and reduce problem-solving times.
Interested visitors can experience the live demonstrations of the machines and digital solutions for themselves at stand N-4740 in McCormick Place, Chicago. Somic technicians will be on hand to explain the functions and benefits of the featured systems.
