Steriline is presenting the VKSFCM11 robotic filling line at CPHI Milan 2026. The system for sterile pharmaceutical applications combines flexible processing with AI-supported process monitoring and is designed in particular for small batches as well as cell and gene therapies.
The VKSFCM11 operates under an isolator and processes various container types. According to the manufacturer, the line is suitable for high and very high value-added products as well as for research and development, pilot batches and small production volumes.
Cameras and AI monitor the process
Steriline integrates the new OmniAI vision system into the line. The platform combines cameras with AI-supported processing and evaluation of the data obtained. Among other things, this is intended to reduce the number of sensors and cameras required. At the same time, Steriline aims to optimise the laminar airflow and support Annex 1 requirements.
„Thanks to AI, we can analyse the images from the cameras positioned within the production line,“ says Alessandro Caprioli, Product Development Director at Steriline. „These cameras are located outside the filling, stoppering and capping area, thereby complying with the ‚First Air‘ concept, offering larger fields of view and enabling us to monitor a greater number of functions. This offers our customers clear benefits.“
The VKSFCM11 also pursues a so-called zero-loss approach. This enables Steriline to gear the system in particular towards applications in which high-value pharmaceutical products are processed and product losses are to be avoided wherever possible.
Predictive maintenance for fill-finish lines
At CPHI, Steriline is also presenting the OptiLAIN platform. It is used for the continuous condition monitoring of the entire line and for predictive maintenance. While OmniAI Vision monitors the process using cameras, OptiLAIN processes information from the other sensors within the system.
Both systems are part of a digitalisation strategy for fill-finish lines. Images, sensor data and algorithms are intended to jointly contribute to process control, the support of regulatory requirements and the reduction of operational risks.
Steriline is showing the VKSFCM11 at CPHI Milan 2026 from 6th to 8th October at stand 9A58.
