The packaging manufacturer Walter Verpackungen from Offenbach am Main is looking for an investor. According to the preliminary insolvency administrator, the business operations of the manufactory specializing in packaging for the confectionery and sweet goods industry continue without interruption.

Alexander Eggen from the Frankfurt branch of the law firm Schultze & Braun has been appointed interim insolvency administrator. A structured process has been launched for the search for investors, which is being supported by mentor AG, a firm specializing in the sale of companies in special circumstances. Talks with potential investors are already underway. The goal is to ensure the long-term continuation and economic stabilization of the company.

Packaging production continues

Walter Verpackungen has been operating since 1914 and produces packaging for chocolate, pralines and macarons, among other products. Various types of cardboard and paper, as well as plastic for transparent packaging, are used. In addition, the company processes printed and shipping products. Around 800 active customers are supplied mainly in the DACH region.

„All orders continue to be accepted, processed, and delivered as planned,“ says Eggen. Important materials and products for the Christmas business have already been procured or pre-produced.

About 25 employees affected

The approximately 25 employees were informed about the situation. According to the insolvency administrator, their wages and salaries have been secured through the insolvency fund until the end of October.

The press release mentions the partial loss of customers as a backdrop to the economic difficulties. The company had been acquired from this situation in mid-2025. The resulting drop in sales led to a liquidity gap, despite already implemented restructuring measures.
