Wintipak, a provider of aseptic packaging solutions for liquid food based in Switzerland, is expanding its production capacities at its German site in Halle (Saale) with the investment in a Boardmaster inline flexo printing press from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen (Heidelberg).
The innovative printing system allows for quick job changes and production speeds of up to 600 metres per minute. As cardboard is the most valuable raw material in the company's production, waste reduction plays a key role in optimising sustainability and cost efficiency. The new Boardmaster technology can reduce start-up waste by up to 90 percent.
Thanks to order changes completed in seconds, Wintipak can handle the production of multiple orders per day at low production costs while maintaining high quality standards. With this investment, Wintipak aims to set new economic and sustainable benchmarks in the aseptic packaging industry, according to the company.
Key position in expansion strategy
In the summer of 2025, the groundbreaking ceremony for a new production hall at the German production site in Halle marked another important milestone in the company's ongoing expansion strategy. Additional printing capacities are required to cope with increasing production volumes and future growth demands. To this end, Wintipak's predecessor company already initiated a comprehensive evaluation process with various technology providers before the final decision was made in favour of the Boardmaster, including the Intellimatch scanner solution.

With its Boardmaster technology, Heidelberg aims to drive the global trend towards more sustainable packaging solutions in the growing folding carton market. As a system integrator, the company is also focusing on partnerships to tap into new market segments and increase its customers' competitiveness.
