Nestl\u00e9 is planning to close its plant in Neuss by mid-2026, affecting around 145 employees. Tube production will be relocated to L\u00fcdinghausen, involving an investment of 13 million euros.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nestl\u00e9 Germany has announced that it will close the plant in Neuss by mid-2026. The decision follows an intensive economic review. Around 145 people are currently employed at the site, producing products such as Thomy oil, mayonnaise and mustard in various types of packaging.<\/p>\n

Reasons for the plant closure<\/h3>\n

Nestl\u00e9 cites the following as the main reasons Increased price sensitivity of consumers<\/strong> and Growing production costs<\/strong>, which led to a decline in sales volumes and to Overcapacities<\/strong> at the site. As part of a restructuring of production, the company plans to:<\/p>

  • the Production in glass and plastic bottles to other European countries<\/strong> relocated and<\/li>\n

    Investments in L\u00fcdinghausen<\/h3>\n

    With the relocation of tube production - the around 90 % of the production volume<\/strong> in Neuss - creates Nestl\u00e9 30 new jobs<\/strong> in L\u00fcdinghausen. These are to be offered preferentially to employees from Neuss. Nestl\u00e9 is also investing 13 million euros<\/strong> in the modernisation of the plant and the construction of a new production line.<\/p>\n

    Nestl\u00e9 currently operates 17 locations in Germany<\/strong>, including more than ten production facilities. The plants in L\u00fcdinghausen and Singen<\/strong> are considered Food competence centres<\/strong> for the production of culinary products.<\/p>\n
