Sch\u00fctz and GIE are strengthening their presence on the Iberian Peninsula with a new joint venture. The cooperation focusses on sustainable industrial packaging and is aimed at a future-oriented circular economy.<\/p>\n

The German packaging specialist Sch\u00fctz and the Spanish company Gesti\u00f3n Integral de Envases (GIE) are joining forces: with a newly founded joint venture, the partners want to jointly develop and expand the market for sustainable industrial packaging on the Iberian Peninsula. The aim is to offer customers in Spain and Portugal a complete portfolio of ecological packaging solutions as well as efficient service and take-back systems.<\/p>\n

Strengths of both partners combined<\/h3>\n

GIE brings over 30 years of experience in the reconditioning of industrial packaging to the co-operation. The owner-managed company offers comprehensive services from its location in central Spain around Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC), plastic and steel drums<\/strong> - including delivery, return and cleaning. The focus here is on process efficiency and environmental compatibility, while maintaining high quality standards.<\/p>

Sch\u00fctz has been active in Spain since 1994 through its subsidiary Sch\u00fctz Ib\u00e9rica and today operates three production facilities in Tarragona and Toledo. The company manufactures IBC systems, plastic and steel drums as well as modern tank systems for drinking water and heating oil. As part of the Ticket Service Programme, Sch\u00fctz operates a global take-back system for empty packaging, which is reconditioned or recycled and fed back into the material cycle.<\/p>\n

Objectives of the joint venture<\/h3>\n

Under the umbrella of the joint venture, both partners are pooling their technological expertise and market knowledge to significantly expand the range of new, washed and reconditioned packaging. The cooperation promises improved availability of sustainable packaging solutions, optimised logistics structures and a contribution to reducing CO\u2082 emissions, according to a statement from Selters.<\/p>\n
