At an open house in its Competence Centre in San Giorgio (Italy), Bobst and its industry partners presented new standards for the production of flexible packaging.<\/p>\n

The focus was on the digital gravure printing solution smartGRAVURE and the solvent-free laminating machine NOVALAM S 550. The two-day event on 8 and 9 April offered visitors from the industry machine demonstrations, specialist presentations and intensive networking with technology partners such as AVT, Sun Chemical, UPM Speciality Papers, Synaptik and Co-\u00ebffici\u00ebnt.<\/p>\n

Digital gravure printing rethought<\/h3>\n

With smartGRAVURE, demonstrated on a MASTER RS 6003, Bobst is focusing on end-to-end digitalised process optimisation. The combination with oneECG technology for an extended colour space and the cloud-based Bobst Connect control system enables colour stability with minimal ink and material consumption. The oneSET module is used to set up print jobs with just one click, it says.<\/p>

Solvent-free laminating at top speed<\/h3>\n

The NOVALAM S 550 impressed in live operation with its processing of current trend materials such as thin, stretchable or metallised films. With speeds of up to 450 m\/min and \u201ePlug & Play\u201c integration, the machine is aimed at packaging manufacturers of all sizes.<\/p>\n
