The packaging solution known as the Frugal Bottle comes from the British company Frugalpac and was honoured with the King's Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category.<\/p>\n<p>The range includes four types of wine under the Collective Good brand - Red Blend, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio. The wines are sold in around 1,200 Target shops. The weight is just 83 grams - around five times less than a conventional glass bottle. An independent life cycle analysis by Intertek puts the carbon footprint of the Frugal Bottle at just 91.9 g CO\u2082e, compared to 440 g CO\u2082e for standard glass bottles - a reduction of 84 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>Target has ordered a total of 256,000 bottles, which, according to the manufacturer, corresponds to a saving of around 98 tonnes of CO\u2082e.<\/p>\n<p>The wines were sourced and imported by the Californian company Latitude Wines. They were bottled by the Monterey Wine Company, which found the paper-based bottles so convincing that they have since become the standard. <strong>itself has its own frugal bottle filling line<\/strong>.
