The Federation of German Food and Drink Industries (BVE) has appointed Kim Cheng as its new Managing Director with effect from 1 May 2025. She succeeds Stefanie Sabet, who is moving to the German Farmers' Association as Secretary General.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In future, Cheng will be responsible for industrial policy, among other things. Christoph Minhoff (Managing Director), Peter Feller (Deputy Managing Director) and Olivier K\u00f6lsch will remain members of the Management Board.<\/p>\n

Expertise from the packaging industry<\/h3>\n

Kim Cheng is a recognised expert in the circular economy and sustainability. From 2016 to 2024 she was Managing Director of the German Packaging Institute (dvi)<\/strong>. In this role, she played a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the association and represented the interests of the industry in politics, business and the public.<\/p>

She previously worked for the German Wholesale, Foreign Trade and Services Association. The 45-year-old lawyer studied at Humboldt University in Berlin and passed her second state examination in law.<\/p>\n

In Cheng, the BVE says it has gained a leader who operates at the interface of industry, regulation and sustainability.<\/p>\n
