Thalia and Ranpak are working together to achieve more sustainable packaging in the store and e-commerce business. The use of automated paper-based packaging solutions reduces the environmental impact and improves fulfilment processes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The bookstore chain Thalia and the packaging specialist Ranpak Holdings Corp. have announced a strategic co-operation. The aim is to make Thalia's packaging processes more efficient, more environmentally friendly and more sustainable.<\/p>\n

As part of the partnership, twelve automated packaging systems from Ranpak will initially be installed in a new omni-channel hub, which is scheduled to open in 2026. The measures are a central component of Thalia's sustainability strategy and part of a comprehensive transformation of the fulfilment area.<\/p>

Innovative packaging technologies in use<\/h3>\n

The use of is planned:<\/p>\n

  • Cut'it! EVO: A system for height optimisation and automatic closing of shipping cartons that minimises empty space and avoids waste.<\/li>\n
  • Form'it! Packer: Automated machines for erecting corrugated cardboard boxes - the first step in the packaging process.<\/li>\n
  • Flap'it! systems: Automated solutions for size adjustment, especially for small, flat shipping items.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Sustainable packaging meets increased efficiency<\/h3>\n

    By using Ranpak's paper-based automation solutions, Thalia will reduce plastic consumption, increase packaging throughput and improve its carbon footprint at the same time, according to the statement.<\/p>\n

    The technical implementation of the integrations is carried out by Element Logic, a specialist in warehouse automation.<\/p>\n
