The innovation is part of the long-term goal of developing a completely bio-based bottle.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"793\" data-end=\"1120\">The new closure was developed in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/packaging-journal.de\/elopak-beteiligt-sich-an-blue-ocean-closures\/\">with the Swedish start-up Blue Ocean Closures (BOC)<\/a> and was tested in practice by bartenders for the first time at the \u201eAbsolut The Map\u201c event in May 2025. The long-term vision is to replace this with a bio-based material as well. The paper-based solution already enables a CO\u2082 reduction compared to conventional closures made of aluminium or plastic - and can be disposed of via paper recycling in suitable markets.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1637\" data-end=\"1682\">Sustainability as part of the brand culture<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1684\" data-end=\"1913\">The new closure solution is part of the parent company Pernod Ricard's \u201eFuture of Packaging\u201c initiative.
