The manufacturer of thermoplastic adhesive films is intended to expand the portfolio in the speciality films segment and strengthen the company's market presence in Europe.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to Covestro, the acquisition will enable it to integrate new technologies and products into its own range. Pontacol, based in Schmitten (Switzerland) and with a production facility in Buxtehude (Germany), brings over 50 years of experience in the manufacture of multilayer adhesive films. Covestro is taking on around 100 employees at both sites.<\/p>\n<p>The purchase price was not disclosed. According to Covestro, the financing will be provided in cash. According to the company, the global market for films is growing, particularly in promising industries.
