The world's first green spirits bottles made from a hybrid glass melting furnace are produced at the Obernkirchen plant in Lower Saxony. Thanks to 42 bottom electrodes, the innovative furnace enables electrical heating of up to 80 per cent and uses up to 60 per cent renewable energy - supplied by a power purchase agreement with Sunnic Lighthouse and Enerparc AG.

all pictures: Jägermeister

Hybrid technology for sustainable glass packaging

According to Ardagh, CO₂ emissions in the production of amber glass packaging could be reduced by 64 per cent with the NextGen furnace. This experience is now to be transferred to green glass.
