TekniPlex Healthcare has opened a new plant for barrier protection systems in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. The facility serves as an innovation centre and will enable future capacity expansions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

TekniPlex Healthcare's new production facility in Madison, Wisconsin, is the new flagship of the Barrier Protection Systems division. With state-of-the-art manufacturing technology and materials expertise, the company aims to expand its position in the North American and international market for sterile protective packaging.<\/p>\n

The new plant will strengthen supply security for customers in the medical technology and pharmaceutical sectors - including hospitals, outpatient surgery centres and laboratories - with reliable packaging solutions for medical devices. The plant will also contribute to the stabilisation of global supply chains, according to the statement.<\/p>

New production capacities and sustainable orientation<\/h3>\n

The ISO 13485:2016-certified facility offers state-of-the-art equipment for the production of coated and printed materials for sterile applications. This includes a high-performance air knife coater for coated Tyvek and reinforced papers as well as an eight-colour flexographic printing machine with minimal waste.<\/p>\n

The sustainable orientation of the new facility plays a central role: 95 per cent of the waste is recyclable, which TekniPlex Healthcare says fulfils the increasing requirements for environmentally friendly manufacturing processes in the healthcare sector.<\/p>\n

Future plans at the site<\/h3>\n

The new plant is already the second in Madison and offers room for future expansion. According to the company, plans include a second flexographic printing press, a rewinder with delivery and a reversible rest roll rewinder.<\/p>\n
