This requires companies to, report in more detail about their packaging. „Although the recyclability requirements for all packaging in accordance with the PPWR will not come into force until 2030, a Early reporting is of great importance for various processes,“ emphasises Dagmar Glatz from dm-drogerie markt. Because as soon as the recyclability, for example in the calculation of the licence fees It must be made transparent to the dual systems for each packaging.

To ensure that companies along the supply chain are prepared in good time for PPWR-compliant reporting of the recyclability of packaging and its components, the Forum Rezyklat is further developing existing data attributes. The aim is to enable companies to Recyclability not only at overall packaging level, but also at component level, can specify. In future, companies will be able to exchange all relevant packaging information in a standardised way, for example in the global master data network GDSN.

New data attribute and code list for packaging components

The PPWR requires that all packaging components that accumulate separately from the consumer during initial opening or through the collection process up to sorting on the sorting belt are assessed individually with regard to their recyclability. „Many people are not yet aware of this,“ Glatz continues. In order to fulfil this new requirement, the Forum Rezyklat has developed a further Data attribute with the name „Packaging Components“ developed. This is where companies enter the components that make up the packaging. They can select these from a stored code list.

„We invite all interested parties to find out about developments in the Recyclate Forum and to actively participate in the discussion,“ explains Anna Zießow from Recyda. Together with Dagmar Glatz, she leads the Recyclate Forum the „Digitisation“ specialist package“ and has advocated a uniform, standardised approach within the alliance from the outset.

„This further development supports companies in recording and passing on detailed packaging information. The digital exchange of information is fundamental ensures that all the necessary information can be reported in compliance with the PPWR,“ explains Leonie Richter from GS1 Germany. The solution is expected to be available from August 2026.

„This initiative is an important step towards promoting the circular economy and reducing the environmental impact of packaging. This further development will ensure that companies can respond to the new requirements at an early stage and thus contribute to a more sustainable future,“ says Zießow.

Source: Forum Recyclate

Forum Rezyklat creates a further basis for PPWR-compliant reporting of the recyclability of packaging and its components
Forum Rezyklat schafft eine weitere Grundlage für das PPWR-konforme Reporting der Recyclingfähigkeit von Verpackungen und ihrer Komponenten.
[58781
65,59403,31,32
0":"post-104598","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-green-packaging","8":"tag-abfalltechnik-und-recycling","9":"tag-forum-rezyklat","10":"tag-nachhaltigkeit-und-green-packaging","11":"tag-packmittel-und-packstoffe","12":"cs-entry","13":"cs-video-wrap
["GET
