Vetropack has successfully recommissioned the second refurbished furnace (F83) at its Ukrainian production site in Hostomel near Kiev. For the plant, this step represents another important milestone on the way back to its original production capacity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The recommissioning of the F83 furnace comes at a strategically important time. In 2024, demand for glass packaging in the Ukrainian market grew at a double-digit rate. A similarly strong development is also expected for 2025 and the coming year. By reactivating the second furnace, Vetropack says it is strengthening its market position both domestically and in neighbouring export markets such as Romania.<\/p>\n

The furnace was badly damaged in the first weeks of the war. Over the past two years, the team on site has repaired the plant under exceptionally difficult conditions, as they say: large quantities of hardened residual glass had to be removed by hand and the technical equipment was gradually replaced. Almost three years after the serious damage, operations can now be resumed.<\/p>

In order to minimise the ongoing risks of war, the Hostomel site has taken comprehensive safety measures and invested in an independent energy supply. Three powerful emergency power generators ensure operation even in the event of power failures.<\/p>\n
