According to Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, it has recycled more than 150 billion used PET bottles since 2011. The Thai chemical company is thus emphasising its long-term commitment to the circular economy and the expansion of its global recycling infrastructure.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Indorama Ventures, it has significantly increased the pace of its recycling activities since it began in 2011. After 50 billion bottles recycled in March 2020 and 100 billion in 2023, the 150 billion mark has now been reached. The company operates more than 20 recycling plants in 11 countries and says it recycles around 789 bottles per second into high-quality recycled PET (rPET) and other circular materials.<\/p>\n

Investments and global partnerships<\/h3>\n

Supported by international partnerships and optimised operating processes, Indorama Ventures has been able to continuously expand its recycling capacities. Yash Lohia, Executive President Petchem and Chairman of the ESG Council<\/strong>, said that reaching the 150 billion mark reflected the combination of \u201epeople, purpose and technology\u201c and emphasised the value of long-term thinking and strategic investment.<\/p>

Environmental and social impact<\/h3>\n

According to the company, recycling the 150 billion bottles avoided around 3.8 million tonnes of CO\u2082 emissions and kept 2.8 million tonnes of plastic waste out of landfills and the environment. In addition to technical expansion, the company is focusing on education, collection and innovation. The \u201eWaste Hero\u201c education programme has already reached almost one million people in schools and communities worldwide.<\/p>\n
