Ciner Glass has secured \u20ac504 million in financing for the construction of a modern container glass plant in Lommel, Belgium. The plant is scheduled to go into operation in 2026 and create 500 new jobs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ciner Glass has announced the closing of a \u20ac504 million financing to realise the construction of a state-of-the-art glass packaging production plant in Lommel, Belgium. The project is one of the largest foreign direct investments in Belgium in the last ten years and will comprise two high-performance furnaces, each with a daily capacity of 650 tonnes, which together will supply eight production lines. At full capacity, a daily production of 1,300 tonnes is planned.<\/p>\n

The financing consists of \u20ac252 million in ECA-backed funds, supported by SACE S.p.A., UK Export Finance and SERV, and a further \u20ac252 million in commercial loans, partly collateralised by Gigarant NV. The banks involved include BNP Paribas S.A. and BNP Paribas Fortis SA\/NV (as agent and coordinator), MUFG Bank, KBC Bank NV, Belfius Bank NV, Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria S.A., DHB Bank NV, Banco BPM S.p.A. and ENBD Denizbank.<\/p>

Second oven to follow in 2027<\/h3>\n

According to Ciner-Glass CEO G\u00f6khan \u015een, the investment is \u201ea significant milestone and proof of our long-term vision of sustainable industrial growth in Europe\u201c. Thanks to the support of the financial partners and the Flemish government, \u201eone of the most advanced glass production facilities can be brought to Belgium\u201c.<\/p>\n

Construction is progressing rapidly and commissioning is planned for the second quarter of 2026. A second furnace is due to follow in 2027, which will reach full capacity.<\/p>\n
