Mondi is expanding its range of high barrier papers with the launch of FunctionalBarrier Paper Ultimate, a paper-based solution to meet growing demand.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Following the previously announced investment of \u20ac16 million in state-of-the-art technology at its plant in Solec (Poland), Mondi is increasing production of FunctionalBarrier Paper Ultimate, a high barrier paper that Offers protection against oxygen, water vapour and grease<\/strong> - with an oxygen transmission rate (OTR) of less than 0.5 cm3<\/sup>\/m2 <\/sup>per day and a water vapour transmission rate (WVTR) of less than 0.5 g\/m2 <\/sup>per day. According to Mondi's internal product analyses, this solution, compared to conventional multilayer materials based on plastic or aluminium, causes significantly lower CO2<\/sub>-emissions<\/strong> over the entire life cycle.<\/p>\n

As Part of the re\/cycle portfolio<\/strong> FunctionalBarrier Paper Ultimate fulfils the internal criteria of Mondi's Path to Circularity Scorecard and is recyclable according to the recyclability test. according to Cepi (\u201eCepi Recyclability Laboratory Test Method\u201c (Version 1 - January 2025)) and the Recycling Evaluation Protocol from 4evergreen<\/strong> designed for recycling companies that use conventional processes. As a result, customers benefit from a more sustainable alternative to conventional packaging solutions made from non-renewable raw materials.<\/p>
