The German packaging specialist Sch\u00fctz has expanded its global production network and opened a new plant in the US state of Wisconsin. In Kenosha, the company will produce IBCs and plastic drums for customers in the Midwest of the USA.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With the new site, Sch\u00fctz is strengthening its presence in one of the fastest-growing regions in North America. State-of-the-art production facilities, developed and built by the company itself, are being built on an area of over 34,000 square metres. This will ensure consistently high product quality and compatibility.<\/p>\n

Strategic location between Chicago and Milwaukee<\/h3>\n

The plant is conveniently located on Interstate I-94 and US Highway 41 in the economically important Chicago-Milwaukee corridor. In addition to logistical advantages, the region offers access to a large pool of skilled labour and potential for future expansion.<\/p>

Sch\u00fctz has been investing in North America since 1991 and now operates 16 sites there. Most recently, plants in Ohio, Missouri, Indiana and Belleville (Canada) were expanded with additional production lines and reconditioning systems.<\/p>\n

Contribution to sustainability and security of supply<\/h3>\n

With the new production facility, Sch\u00fctz is shortening transport routes, which improves the carbon footprint of its products. This is in line with the company's own Green Lifecycle Management. In addition, an expansion to include a reconditioning plant for used industrial packaging is planned for autumn 2025, which Sch\u00fctz intends to use to further promote the circular economy in North America.<\/p>\n
