Leonhard Kurz has presented its new Slim technology. According to the company, the solution reduces the carrier thickness to 10 \u00b5m in hot stamping and 6 \u00b5m in cold transfer, thereby promising more efficient processes, increased gloss and ecological benefits.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The optimised layer structure is designed to make detachment more precise, reduce roll changes and cut downtimes. Processors benefit from higher productivity and an overall optimised finishing process. The reduced use of PET also helps to reduce material consumption, waste and disposal costs.<\/p>\n

Technology and processes<\/h3>\n

In short, the new layer architecture delivers a significantly increased gloss level. The reduced substrate thickness enables longer running metres per roll, which reduces the effort required for roll changes and stabilises production processes.<\/p>

Sustainability and recycling<\/h3>\n

Less PET per running metre reduces weight and transport emissions, they say, and makes handling easier. The finishing process itself does not leave any films or laminates on the end product and therefore does not impair recyclability. Kurz also refers to the Recosys 2.0 take-back and recycling system for the resource-saving recycling of carrier films.<\/p>\n
