DB Fernverkehr AG is currently involved in a cooperation project to optimise the transport of technical components. In collaboration with Turtlebox, G&H GmbH Rothschenk and the Fraunhofer Institute for Structural Durability and System Reliability LBF, so-called stowage bag boxes are being trialled for the safe transport of machine modules. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The technical modules are routinely removed at the pilot site in Munich and elsewhere, transported for refurbishment and then reinstalled in the ICE trains after return delivery. Thanks to its adaptive dimensional stability and the Possibility of multiple reuse<\/strong> enable significantly higher transport quality - while at the same time almost completely reduced packaging waste<\/strong>. This approach is currently still being trialled as part of the cooperation project.<\/p>\n

\u201eWhat is particularly interesting about the innovative dunnage bag boxes is that, in addition to the integrated air cushioning, no additional inner packaging is required. We hope to simplify the packaging process and reduce transport damage.\u201c<\/p>\n

As part of the pilot project, a reusable packaging system is being tested that also offers ecological benefits. Technological innovation through industry and research partnerships<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The scientific monitoring under real operating conditions by the Fraunhofer Institute LBF ensures a sound evaluation of this transport solution developed together with industrial partners. This results in needs-based, industry-orientated products and solutions for rapid and practical use.<\/p>\n
