The result is a 1,800 square metre assembly hall for isolators and a 1,200 square metre office wing with over 100 new workstations; around 20 million euros were invested.

The new building was realised in one year as an extension to the existing building. According to the company, the eleven metre high hall is equipped with a crane and all relevant media for efficient assembly. A glass dome measuring almost 400 square metres provides daylight. The office wing was planned with sustainability in mind; it is energy self-sufficient thanks to geothermal energy with a brine heat pump and a photovoltaic area of 3,000 square metres.

Energy self-sufficiency and capacity expansion

The new space is intended to address the increasing demand for insulators. The workforce at the site has grown from 180 to over 300 employees in the past three years; the economic outlook is described as positive. The special location of the building site required a deep foundation with 270 concrete piles up to 17 metres deep.

History of the site

The site has a long history: founded in 1957 as metall+plastic, it has been building isolators for the pharmaceutical industry since 1989.
