{"id":110454,"date":"2026-01-05T14:09:05","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T13:09:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/packaging-journal.de\/?p=110454"},"modified":"2026-01-05T11:09:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T10:09:07","slug":"ifbb-launches-resi-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/packaging-journal.de\/en\/ifbb-startet-projekt-resi\/","title":{"rendered":"IfBB launches research project \u201eResi - innovative residual materials\u201c"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u201eResi - Reststoffe innovativ\u201c is the name of the new research project at the IfBB at Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts, in which the utilisation of agricultural residues and waste materials for the plastics industry is to be researched together with three project partners.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the Resi project, the IfBB and its project partners, the Institute for Technical Chemistry (TCI) at Leibniz Universit\u00e4t Hannover and the companies Vogelsang and Holzm\u00fchle Westerkamp, are researching agricultural residues and waste materials from Lower Saxony as biogenic materials. They are intended to replace fossil raw materials and thus promote resource conservation and sustainability. By using residual materials instead of fresh biomass, additional land consumption for the production of raw materials can be avoided, making the process potentially more environmentally friendly.<\/p>\n<p>The focus is on the following research questions: Which bio-based residues and by-products from Lower Saxony are suitable for plastics technology and how can they be used innovatively as fillers and reinforcing materials, functionalising additives or as fermentation media in previously unused fields of application?
