Mets\u00e4 Board has completed the acquisition of the slitting and distribution centre in Winschoten, the Netherlands, from the Konvertia Group. According to the board manufacturer, the move will strengthen its production and service capacities in Europe and further improve its delivery performance.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With an annual capacity of around 100,000 tonnes and 22 employees, the cutting and distribution centre in Winschoten is said to be one of the largest and most modern facilities of its kind in Europe. Mets\u00e4 Board announced that it will now integrate the centre into its European activities and coordinate production, logistics and customer service processes.<\/p>\n

Integration in European activities<\/h2>\n

According to the company, the aim of the integration is to further optimise service speeds and delivery reliability in Europe. Europe is the most important growth market for Mets\u00e4 Board. Through the acquisition, the manufacturer is expanding its processing and distribution capacities in close proximity to European customers.<\/p>

Mets\u00e4 Board specialises in lightweight folding boxboard, food service board and white kraftliner. According to the company, the virgin fibres used come from Northern European forests and are traceable. The company is listed on Nasdaq Helsinki and achieved a turnover of EUR 1.9 billion in 2024 with around 2,300 employees.<\/p>\n
