Robust, durable, and recyclable, it relies on a patented manufacturing process and a construction designed for maximum stability in industrial use. The new can pallet was first presented at Interpack 2026 in Düsseldorf.

In manufacturing, filling, storage, and distribution of beverage cans, every process step counts. Pallets must fit precisely into existing stacking dimensions, conveyor lines, and truck loading patterns. At the same time, they are exposed to high loads – whether in can production, at the beverage manufacturer, in logistics centres, or during export. Craemer has developed the New CanPal German Pallet Developed: a durable plastic pallet for safe and economical transport of beverage cans.

The family-run company from Herzebrock-Clarholz combines decades of experience in plastics processing, metal forming and toolmaking. As early as 1967, Craemer developed the world's first one-piece injection-moulded plastic pallet. Today, Craemer stands for robust, recyclable logistics solutions designed for intensive use and a long service life.

Heavily ribbed skids on the underside ensure maximum stability and longevity in industrial use. (Image: Craemer)

Thoughtfully constructed – right down to the block

The CanPal measures 1250 x 1180 x 133 millimetres; with optional spacers, it measures 1265 x 1180 millimetres. Its own weight is around 22.5 kilograms. It is made from resilient polypropylene, which is durable, robust, and 100 percent recyclable. The load capacity is up to 10,000 kilograms statically and up to 1,250 kilograms dynamically.

Particular attention is paid to the pallet blocks. In conventional multi-part pallets, connections between the top and bottom decks are often considered weak points, for example during falls from greater heights or when in contact with forklift tines. Craemer has specifically reinforced these areas. The top deck and the runners are inseparably joined using a patented process. This creates a stable unit that approaches the strength of a one-piece solution and is clearly superior to conventional multi-part systems.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block;text-align:center" data-ad-layout="in-article" data-ad-format="fluid" data-ad-client="ca-pub-2686439340972671" data-ad-slot="6171251825"></ins>

Simulation for more stability in everyday life

The development of the CanPal based on extensive research and development work. Using modern finite element modelling, Craemer's designers virtually analysed the geometry of the deck and skids and optimised them specifically. The result is a balanced ratio of low material usage, high rigidity and reliable function.

Details such as the reinforced lower edge of the upper deck above the entry openings also contribute to stability and load securing – particularly when using strapping bands. Heavily ribbed skids additionally support load capacity and ensure a high level of process reliability in automated workflows.

The close-meshed grid on the top surface ensures optimal load distribution and high process reliability in automated workflows. Optional spacers prevent contact between adjacent pallets when stacked products are secured by protruding stacking frames or intermediate layers. For increased slip resistance, the top and bottom decks can be retrofitted with four Palgrip® anti-slip clips each.

Integration into digital logistics processes is also planned: the top deck has two diagonally opposite recesses for Smartrac Dogbone RFID inlays. In addition, the outer blocks on the long sides offer space for hot-foiled logos or lettering. The standard colour is light grey, other colours are available on request. The temperature resistance ranges from –30 °C to +40 °C, and even up to +90 °C for short periods.

Premiere at Interpack 2026

From 7 to 13 May 2026, Craemer presented the new CanPal German Pallet for the first time at Interpack in Düsseldorf.
