Dunapack Packaging has opened a new high-bay warehouse for semi-finished goods at its Strasswalchen site. The company invested 12.1 million euros in the fully automated facility, which is intended to make material transport, intermediate storage, and production logistics more efficient.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new interim storage facility measures 55 by 20 metres and is built over nine levels. According to Dunapack Packaging, modern stacker cranes and intelligent software enable energy-saving operation as well as rapid storage and retrieval. At the same time, fire protection and occupational safety have been given particular consideration.<\/p>\n

More automation at the site<\/h2>\n

With the project, Dunapack Packaging aims to increase automation and efficiency in Strasswalchen. For customers, the plant is intended primarily to provide greater supply security, shorter response times, and consistently high product quality. Production peaks should be better absorbed and individual requirements implemented more flexibly.<\/p>

Storage capacity for 1.2 million square metres of corrugated board<\/h2>\n

In 33 months, automated storage capacity for approximately 1.2 million square metres of corrugated cardboard was created. According to the company, this is equivalent to about 170 football pitches. The facility reduces manual intervention, increases workplace safety, and is intended to relieve employees during ongoing operations.<\/p>\n

Dunapack Packaging is part of the Austrian-based Prinzhorn Group and produces corrugated board packaging, primarily from recycled paper. The company states that it employs 5,900 people in twelve countries and operates 24 plants.<\/p>\n
