With its newly introduced \u201eValmet 3D Fibre\u201c technology, the Finnish company aims to offer packaging manufacturers a complete production solution for three-dimensional fibre packaging. The technology is intended to enable the industrial production of packaging made from pulp fibres with high production output and to create an alternative to plastic packaging.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\"<a href=\"https:\/\/packaging-journal.de\/imfa-sieht-starke-wachstumsdynamik-bei-faserformverpackungen\/\">The demand for moulded fibre packaging is growing<\/a>, \u201cand we see great opportunities to support our customers in benefiting from this growth. Among other things, it can be used to produce lightweight yet stable shells, plates and packaging for food applications. Furthermore, the process management is designed to recycle trim and side streams within production. This is intended to increase resource efficiency and improve the circularity of manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eThe strength of Valmet 3D Fibre lies in the combination of unique fibre-laying technology, high production capacity, and automation. Our technology enables customers to develop demanding three-dimensional packaging solutions while maintaining high productivity and resource efficiency,\u201c explains Juho Pyrr\u00f6, Head of Valmet 3D Fibre.<\/p>\n<h2>Development together with Mets\u00e4 Spring<\/h2>\n<p>The development of the technology stems from a collaboration that began in 2020 between Valmet and Mets\u00e4 Spring, the Mets\u00e4 Group's innovation company. The objective of the cooperation was to develop a production concept that converts wood fibres into packaging solutions for various applications.<\/p>\n<p>With this market launch, Valmet is strengthening its strategic focus on circular packaging solutions and renewable materials, according to the company.
