The Polish packaging manufacturer Grembox is investing 110 million zloty (around 26 million euros) into the construction of a new production site in the Katowice Special Economic Zone (KSSE) in Bytom. The company from Ruda \u015al\u0105ska intends to produce corrugated cardboard packaging for both Polish and international markets there from mid-2027. According to the company, the project will create up to 70 new jobs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new factory is being built on a plot of almost 4.6 hectares on Hakuby Road. Initially planned are a production and warehouse hall with an area of around 11,000 square metres, as well as the installation of new production lines and corresponding software. Commissioning of the corrugated board production is scheduled for 2027.<\/p>\n

Capacity for millions of square metres of packaging<\/h2>\n

According to Grembox, the site is set to become one of the largest centres for the manufacture of corrugated cardboard packaging in Poland. The company has been producing and distributing corrugated cardboard packaging and packaging accessories for over 30 years, and operates a B2B online shop for the e-commerce and logistics sector.<\/p>

\u201eA state-of-the-art corrugated cardboard packaging production facility is being built in Bytom. We chose the location in the KSSE on Hakuby Street, among other reasons, because of the large available area near our headquarters, as well as the convenient access to the A1 motorway and important road and rail transport routes,\u201c says Krzysztof Migocki, Finance Director of Grembox.<\/p>\n

With the new plant, production is to be expanded to up to several tens of millions of square metres of packaging per year. The packaging is currently mainly supplied to customers in the e-commerce, food, cosmetics, industrial, and household and construction chemicals sectors.<\/p>\n

Focus on automation and recyclability<\/h2>\n

The plan is for largely automated production with digitally controlled material flow management. The company will produce corrugated cardboard packaging with enhanced strength properties. According to the company, a completely ecological protection system with moisture-repellent and biostatic effects will be used.<\/p>\n

The central raw material used is corrugated cardboard, which is fully recyclable. Furthermore, Grembox aims to develop innovative packaging solutions and expand its market presence with the new production line.<\/p>\n
