With cLynx.print, Saueressig GmbH offers intelligent control software that calculates possible surface and production defects on the gravure cylinder. Thanks to a fine analysis, cLynx.print distinguishes with high precision between Material defects, impurities<\/strong> and actual production errors,<\/strong> which are displayed at the end of the process.<\/p>\n

Stephan Lammers,<\/strong> Global Director Packaging at Saueressig GmbH, explains: \u201eWith this in-house development, we can optimise our production process and are in a position to meet the high quality requirements even better.\u201c Saueressig has applied for a patent for the process.<\/p>\n

cLynx.print carries out a digital comparison between the repro and the print result. Possible deviations from the original are immediately displayed in the programme and evaluated by trained personnel. If a suspected defect is confirmed, a check is carried out directly on the cylinder and - if necessary - it is re-produced. This new type of inspection should eliminate the need to dispatch and check press proofs in the future, thereby significantly simplifying incoming inspections at the customer's premises.<\/p>

The production process is continuously optimised by cLynx.print, explains Lammers:<\/p>\n

The software was originally developed for security printing. The internal application was extended to the area of Consumer goods packaging<\/strong> and promises further development potential according to Saueressig: \u201eIn theory, cLynx.print can also be used to analyse any other cylinder or similar print template for errors.
