This includes the application on the side facing away from the food as well as the food contact side.<\/p>\n<p>The European Printing Ink Association <strong>EuPIA<\/strong> with headquarters in Brussels <strong>GMP<\/strong> (Good Manufacturing Practice) to help processors of printing inks and varnishes to control food safety hazards. Since then, there have been numerous significant changes that have made it necessary to create a new guideline. In particular, we have also considered printing varnishes that are intended for direct contact with food,\u201c explains <strong>Dr Martin Kanert<\/strong>, Managing Director of EuPIA.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Printing inks for food contact materials<\/h2>\n<p>Inks, varnishes and coatings developed and manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this GMP will help the food contact materials manufacturer to market products that fully comply with the relevant European regulations for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. All companies should therefore plan sufficient time and resources to define and produce the necessary changes.
