According to the Fachverband Faltschachtel-Industrie (FFI), the high level of consumer confidence also led to good growth for the folding carton industry.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, a total of <strong>856,885 tonnes of folding carton products<\/strong> were produced, according to the FFI. This was 1.7 per cent more than in 2016, when business had declined slightly. German companies in the sector therefore represented a fifth of the total European production volume.<\/p>\n<p>The increase was even stronger, at 2.1 per cent. <strong>Production value<\/strong>. In 2017, this amounted to <strong>1.861 billion euros<\/strong>. Production was also more profitable. Among other things, this is characterised by the progressive networking of branded companies with retailers and consumers, personalised digital printing services, the <strong>Digital networking<\/strong> of the various production information and the networking of machines with each other. Ordering and production processes could run more efficiently and with a higher degree of automation.
