The Fachverband Faltschachtel-Industrie e. V. (FFI) wants to set up an online database for all folding cartons used in the industry. Technical data, including bending stiffness, thickness, moisture and whiteness, will be available in German and English. The aim of the database is to increase market transparency and reduce costs for the supply chain.<\/p>\n

The project prepares the FFI<\/strong> for two years. Implementation is now beginning. All relevant manufacturers will be allowed to participate in the database. The FFI will conclude separate licence agreements with them. FFI members and members of the national associations of the ECMA, European Carton Makers Association<\/strong>, members should be able to make full use of the database. Non-members should receive a restricted right of use.<\/p>\n

One data record per supplier article and area-related mass<\/h2>\n

In terms of content, the database should contain publicly available technical data for each folding boxboard according to the principle of \u201eone data record per supplier article per area-related mass\u201c, such as Bending stiffness, thickness, moisture or whiteness<\/strong> systematically and up-to-date. The database will be searchable to enable comparisons between different products.<\/p>

The database will not list data relevant to business management or calculation, such as prices, business conditions, delivery times or stock levels.
