Sidel's new BOSS (Base Over Stroke System) solution is easy to implement and retrofit and is compatible with Sidel's universal blow-moulding machines.

The new base technology overcomes the challenges of producing flat, oval and rectangular PET containers, which require a specific production process with optimised PET material distribution in order to produce high-quality packaging.

„SteadyEDGE enables the production of high-quality PET containers with sharper edges whose diameter can be reduced to just one millimetre instead of the previous 2.5 millimetres,“ explains Pierrick Protais, Head of Packaging Innovations at Sidel. These edges increase the Freedom of design and simplify production more elegant container with less rounded bases.
