The 52-year-old has many years of experience in packaging machine construction and automation technology.<\/p>\n<p>Following his studies in computer science at the University of Karlsruhe, which he completed in 1992 with a degree in computer science, he received his doctorate at the same university five years later. During this time, Cord, who was born in Heidenheim, worked on projects relating to robotics and automation in mechanical engineering at the Research Centre for Information Technology. Following his work at the research centre, Cord became Head of Research and Development at ELAU, a manufacturer of automation solutions for packaging technology, in 1998. Following the acquisition of the company by Schneider Electric, he was appointed CEO in 2005. Since the beginning of 2010, Cord has been responsible for the \u201eAutomation\u201c business unit at Lenze, which develops and markets automation solutions for various segments of mechanical engineering.<\/p>\n<h2>Continuing our growth trajectory<\/h2>\n<p>Cord took over the management of Loesch Verpackungstechnik on 1 August 2017.
